How Our Free Calculators Work
Understand the astronomical model, timezone handling, traditional conventions and privacy limits behind the free tools.
Astronomy and civil time
We reuse Astronomy Engine 2.1.19 and the website’s documented local Panchang model. Tithi divides the Sun–Moon elongation into 30 segments of 12 degrees. Nakshatra and Pada use sidereal lunar longitude with a Lahiri J2000 anchor and precession. Civil times use the browser’s IANA timezone database, including clock-change gaps and repeated times.
Birth time is used as recorded, not replaced by sunrise. An uncertain time can change a boundary result. The tools are not a substitute for a verified birth record or personal interpretation.
Astronomy and geographic creditsChoghadiya
Daylight is divided into eight equal parts from sunrise to sunset. The night is divided into eight equal parts from sunset to the next sunrise. Weekday-based traditional names are shown alongside Rahu Kaal overlap; no personal suitability or guaranteed result is inferred. At locations without a complete rise/set interval the table is unavailable.
Janma Tithi
The finder records tithi at the birth instant and searches a selected year for that tithi in the same regular Amanta lunar month. It displays the full tithi window and any local sunrise dates. Adhika/kshaya birth cases and repeated or skipped sunrise tithis require manual review. It does not silently choose between regional observance rules.
This is an estimated calendar aid, not a Tithi Pravesha chart or Kundli generator. Confirm a ceremony date with Pandit Ji.
Naming and gemstone units
Naming sounds follow a commonly used Nakshatra/Pada sequence; Roman spellings are approximate and regional variants exist. The finder suggests sounds, not a prediction about a child.
One carat is 0.2 grams. Ratti has multiple conventions; select the seller’s actual grams-per-ratti value. Conversion does not certify a gemstone, its value or the shop’s unit convention.
Private by design
No account is needed for these tools. Birth inputs are processed locally in a background worker, never placed in the URL and never saved by these tools. Only a selected city is stored when you check Remember city. Calendar reminders are downloaded files; alerts depend on your calendar app. No reminder email is sent.
Calculation checks include astronomical reference cases, clock-change boundaries, replay protection for security codes and mathematical conversion tests. Independent validation of every historical date or regional ritual rule is not claimed.
Understand the result
Traditional timing labels describe calendar conventions, not guaranteed outcomes. Sunrise calculations use a standard horizon model; local conditions and regional observance rules can differ.
